Using the MyCQ Tab

Overview

The MyCQ page allows CQ.com subscribers to customize their experience. You can choose what kinds of information you'd prefer to view in whichever order you'd like and skip the ones you don't.

Customization Options:

Additionally, you can minimize or highlight whichever type of data you choose: News, Bills, Committees or Members.

You can also find news stories, set up and manage e-mail alerts and track legislation, committees and specific members. MyCQ is a powerful tool to help you manage your CQ experience.

My Subscription

This area lists the databases currently in your subscription. To minimize this area, click the Minus button located at the top right of the box. To lower this area in the window, click the downward pointed arrow. To raise this area in the window, click the upward pointed arrow. If there is no upward pointed arrow, then this area is the highest one and cannot be raised further.

News

In this area, CQ features a top story from CQ Today and CQ Weekly. These stories are customizable by clicking the "Customize News" link located at the top right corner of the box.

The News area contains three parts: customized news, expandable links and tools. Expandable links contain the latest CQ House Action Reports, Newsmaker Transcripts and three kinds of schedules (Today at a Glance, today's and tomorrow's). The tools section contains links to browse by topic and the ability to search via keyword or create custom e-mail alerts. The tools section can be minimized independently of the larger News Area by clicking "Minimize Section" above the tools section.

To minimize the entire News area, click the Minus button located at the top right of the box. To lower this section in the window, click the downward pointed arrow. To raise this section in the window, click the upward pointed arrow. If there is no upward pointed arrow, then this section is the highest one and cannot be raised further.

Bills

In this area, CQ features information about bills currently in Congress. This information is customizable by selecting a personal Bill List or one of CQ's standard bill lists from the drop-down menu.

The Bills area contains three parts: customizable bills information, expandable links and tools. Expandable links highlight the latest floor votes and which bills have reached certain stages in the legislative process (introduced, ordered reported and signed into law). The tools section allows you to search for bills, track bills you've already identified, and make reports. The tools section can be minimized independently of the larger Bills Area by clicking "Minimize Section" above the tools section.

To minimize the entire Bills area, click the Minus button located at the top right of the box. To lower this section in the window, click the downward pointed arrow. To raise this section in the window, click the upward pointed arrow. If there is no upward pointed arrow, then this section is the highest one and cannot be raised further.

Committees

In this area, CQ features news about congressional Committees. You can choose either CQ's Featured Committee or your preferred committee from the drop down menu.

The Committees area contains three parts: Featured Committee news, expandable links and tools. Expandable links contain the latest committee markups, transcripts, testimony and reports. The tools section allows you to find and track the latest committee coverage. The tools section can be minimized independently of the larger Committees Area by clicking "Minimize Section" above the tools section.

To minimize the entire Committees area, click the Minus button located at the top right of the box. To lower this section in the window, click the downward pointed arrow. To raise this section in the window, click the upward pointed arrow. If there is no upward pointed arrow, then this section is the highest one and cannot be raised further.

Members

In this area, CQ features news about members of Congress. You can either choose CQ's Featured Member or select a Member from the drop-down menu.

The Members area contains two sections: Featured Member news and tools. The tools section can be minimized independently of the larger Members area by clicking "Minimize Section" above the tools section.
